Your rights
Four things you can always do.
Prove your identity and your relationship, and the file is marked as family-claimed with a badge. You stay informed about what is added and you have a direct line to the people running the file.
Anything wrong in the file, tell us. Corrections are checked against the cited source and fixed. The citation rule protects you here: if the file says it, the file has to prove it.
Ask for the file to be taken down, for any reason. Verified requests are honored without debate. You do not have to argue your case.
A private channel to a human being, away from the public pages. Not a form letter, not a bot. Someone who will listen and act.
Verification
Why we ask who you are.
Files cannot be changed or taken down on a stranger's word. That protection runs both ways: it stops bad actors from silencing a file, and it means when you verify, your word carries real weight.
We need to know who you are before we act on a claim, correction, or takedown. This is the one thing we will not bend on.
When you ask for a file to come down, it is temporarily unlisted while we verify. You do not wait in public while we check.
Once your identity and relationship check out, the file stays down. No debate, no second round.
If we cannot verify the request, the file returns. We will tell you why and what would be needed.
Not a model. Every takedown decision is made by a human being who has read the whole file.
